About

Jessica Karle

Hi. I am a designer and writer living and working in San Francisco. I'm currently in the early stages of building my own company—stay tuned!

In my most recent role as the Head of Digital Design at Everlane I was responsible for the management and growth of the digital product design team, and led from a foundation that all good design starts with understanding our users.

We put an emphasis on the entire design process from strategic definition, to research, prototyping, execution, and analysis. I led an extremely collaborative team that partnered closely with engineers and product managers as well as key stakeholders across the organization.

As a Lead Product Designer at Paperless Post I led the redesign and successful launch of our invitation product and created a new mobile-first experience for an audience of 65 million receivers a year. We focused heavily on user research to innovate rather than iterate on a six-year old product.

As a Senior Designer at General Assembly I worked on a variety of projects across mediums to evolve brand standards. Prior to that I gained experience at architecture studios specializing in high-end retail and residential work in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Cincinnati.

I am the co-founder and author of Kern and Burn: Conversations with Design EntrepreneursI studied Interior Architecture and Furniture Design at Miami University of Ohio and received my MFA in Graphic Design from Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA).
